Another week, can you believe it!! Time is flying at the speed of sound and this was aided by the occurrence of a glorious public holiday yesterday (Thursday). I, the Winner, demonstrated my winning ability by being the only man left in the office today…abandoned by the others to fend for myself! Needless to say, the week has provided some amusement.
On Monday, on his way to work, the Weather Man saw that the surf was great and succumbed to temptation! Mr. Couta had some heart breaking news; his girlfriend broke up with him for undisclosed reasons. This made us all take a long, hard look at ourselves… then agree that we were all extremely good looking and it was her loss! Glorious! The Weather Man offered his condolences and so did the Jew who promptly asked if he was getting anything out of it (typical).
Tuesday saw the Weather Man, Mr. Couta and a man we have dubbed Faggel (from Superbad) all head off to Sodwana bay to help the Weather man find good waves... and collect data J This meant that myself and the Jew were left alone… MAWHAHAHA (evil laugh)
Very soon after that an opportunity presented itself to play a trick on Faggel, who we love pranking! Last time we let loose 1000’s of fruit flies in his office… it was awesome! ANYway, they had just bought a new fridge for the kitchen and this came in a box. The Jew and I then had a glorious idea to put everything on Faggels desk into the box. So we got the key from security and proceeded to pack his computer, printer, stationary and documents into the box. Its going to be legen…DARY!!
Wednesday was a great from a lack of work point of view and the Jew and I shared some witty banter. Comments from the Jew included one on people looking for work here “tell them to go feed the f***in dolphins, they must eat a lot of fish”. Amazing.
He also commented on his money-saving scheme of cycling to work where he noted that the only draw back was not having 5fm…
The reason I am alone today is because in true Jew style, he managed to organize a free weekend in the Kruger National Park a week before his birthday. He also said that while he was there he intended to come up with a quote that he would be remembered for and written on the bottom of diary pages… ridiculous!
Wednesday night saw a glorious lunar eclipse take place which really was stunning (for all of you in Cape Town who didn’t see it). Makes you wonder what else is out there when the moon took on that reddish glow.
Yesterday saw me meet up with a best mate of mine, Danger, and tuck in at the Oyster Box in Umhlanga. If you have not been there, GO!! The food is amazing and the bathrooms are incredible...really they are!! Anyway...
Danger and Winner (Tash in the mix haha)
That’s it for this week in The Office; upcoming events include the Winner’s chapter hand-in, a trip for all of us to Maritzburg and all the usual knee-slappers!
Till then, safety first… then team work!
